Abstract
Your next team member won’t need an office or take annual leave – but they’ll bring decades of experience, instant access to research evidence, and the ability to see patterns across many interactions with people that access occupational therapy to build better services. Generative artificial intelligence (AI) platforms such as ChatGPT, Copilot and Claude have already demonstrated capabilities to support professional activities, including information retrieval, task automation, data analysis and communication, and occupational therapy is not exempt from their influence. These human–AI coalitions may become standard in health and social care settings, influencing occupational therapy practice and education.
