Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influencing of ChatGpt use by students in their academic journey. The data was obtained through a survey of 287 Moroccan respondents and analyzed using a mixed approach moethod: both quantitative and qualitative anamysis. Through the use of structural equation modeling, the hypotheses were examined. The results revealed that students who found ChatGpt useful ultimately held a different overall attitude towards the tool compared to those who initially resisted it. Similarly, a student's perception of ChatGPT's academic integrity also played a significant role in shaping their attitude. Interestingly, ethical considerations, religiosity, and student digital literacy did not have a statistically significant impact on either attitude or behavioral intention. These findings suggest that the perceived usefulness and initial resistance towards ChatGPT, along with concerns about its academic integrity, are key factors influencing students overall perception and readiness to use ChatGpt.
