Unveiling Current and Future Trends in Artificial Intelligence Liability: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract
The present study aims to explore and investigate the Quality 4.0 current knowledge, emerging areas, and trends available in the literature and provide insights for future research direction in this study, an analysis was conducted on liability studies related to artificial intelligence from 2011-2024. A total of 154 articles were obtained from the Scopus and WOS database through a rigorous review employed several analyses in the data analysis, including studying the number of studies per year, the distribution of studies by authors, countries, and the trend topics. The research findings indicate a notable rise in the number of studies conducted since 2017, particularly in the healthcare sector. Additionally, emerging research areas include product liability, strict liability, crime, and civil liability. Concerns regarding bias, malpractice, and decision-making, are the underdeveloped areas of AI legislation have highlighted the need for further study in relation to liability. When it comes to the number of publications, the USA garners attention, following Italy, Brazil, and Germany. The authors primarily focused on the countries involved in their research. The findings suggest that the increasing focus on liability in Artificial Intelligence research will continue to drive progress in developing better policies and trustworthy AI.
