Abstract
The integration of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HCAI) in higher education offers a unique potential to create personalized, ethical, and efficient educational environments. This paper provides a systematic literature review, analyzing current applications of HCAI in higher education, with a focus on transparency, fairness, and student engagement. Case studies from leading institutions highlight the benefits of HCAIdriven tools, such as adaptive learning platforms and AI-powered feedback systems, and their impact on teaching effectiveness, student retention, and ethical AI practices. By identifying key trends, practical challenges, and areas for future research, this study underscores the importance of collaboration between educators and AI technologies. Findings suggest that future work should focus on the long-term impacts of HCAI, scalability across diverse educational contexts, and development of robust ethical frameworks to foster equitable, transparent, and supportive learning environments.
