Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of the paper is to present the concept of an AI-based system that automates the process of verifying and repairing accessibility errors on hospital websites. The system aims to ensure compliance with international WCAG standards and improve websites usability for individuals with various dysfunctions. Need for the study: With the growing number of people with disabilities and the increasing role of the Internet as a source of information, website accessibility has become a key challenge in today's digital space. Hospital websites present a particularly critical challenge, as they serve as official platforms offering access to health information, medical services, and effective communication with facilities. Methodology: The authors described the concept of a system in which artificial intelligence iteratively identifies and fixes accessibility problems to support web administrators creating and managing the hospital's website. Advanced technologies like convolutional neural networks, transformers, and models that combine natural language processing with computer vision are included. Findings: The proposed system has the potential to significantly improve the accessibility of hospital websites, eliminating barriers affecting people with disabilities. Practical Implications: The automation of accessibility processes using artificial intelligence not only saves time and reduces human errors but also counteracts social exclusion and increases inclusivity. The concept presented in the paper is a step toward full automation of accessibility enhancement, while supporting healthcare institutions in managing their websites in accordance with regulations and social responsibility.
