Abstract
<title>Extract</title> Artificial intelligence (AI) applications are being increasingly deployed within medical specialties, including pulmonology [1]. An early role for these applications within pulmonology lies in lung nodule management [2]. This is especially important for interventional pulmonologists (IP) and advanced diagnostic bronchoscopists (ADB). There are an estimated 1.6 million lung nodules identified annually in the United States, and management remains a challenge [3]. Thus, there is an increasing relevance of AI applications that aid in lung nodule detection, tracking, and risk characterization. Also, experimental reports have demonstrated autonomous medical needle steering in-vivo in animals i.e. AI-aided navigational bronchoscopy [4]. As the adoption of AI increases in pulmonology, it is essential that healthcare professionals (HCPs) are familiar with AI-related terms, technologies, and their advantages and disadvantages. Accordingly, a survey was conducted to assess the perspectives of IP and ADB HCPs regarding the integration of AI into their clinical practice.
