A study on the Use of AI by University Lecturers in Higher Education in Bulgaria

Abstract
The paper examines the implementation of artificial intelligence in higher education in Bulgaria. It compares some research by other authors and their results. An online survey was conducted through an innovative Bulgarian feedback platform, analysing the usability of AI by university lecturers. A synthesized profile of the responded university lecturers in Bulgaria with attitude towards the use of AI was created. Main conclusions were drawn regarding the purposes of AI use, as well as its applicability and frequency of use by lecturers in higher education. Conclusions were drawn relating the use of digital technologies in general and comparing it with the use of AI by lecturers in the EU, emphasizing that AI is a bridge between already established tools (LMS, digital media) and future personalized solutions. A finding has been made regarding the most applied AI model in this field.
