Abstract
This piece defends that the Zhuangzian philosophy can help mitigate paternalism and bias in medical artificial intelligence. Zhuangzian philosophy, by claiming that our knowledge is limited, requiring that we incorporate different views to enrich our understanding and setting limits on the toleration of diversity, provides an insightful perspective on how algorithms can mitigate bias and paternalism.
