Abstract
Abstract With the rapid advancement of technology, artificial intelligence–based psychotherapy has emerged as a promising tool in mental healthcare delivery. Despite its potential to increase accessibility and anonymity, the acceptance of such interventions may be influenced by psychological factors such as self-stigma associated with seeking mental health support. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-stigma and attitudes toward AI-based psychotherapy among Indian adults, drawing on concepts from Clinical Psychology and Artificial Intelligence. A quantitative correlational research design is proposed, involving a sample of Indian adults from diverse demographic backgrounds. Data will be collected using standardized instruments such as the Self-Stigma of Seeking Help Scale along with a structured questionnaire measuring attitudes toward AI-based psychotherapy. Statistical analyses, including Pearson correlation and regression, will be used to explore the relationship between variables.
