Abstract
Engineering education is undergoing a significant transformation driven by the rapid integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools into teaching, learning, and professional practice.I infer that the widespread accessibility of AI technologies represents a critical inflection point, composing a reconsideration of how educators prepare students for engineering problem-solving, collaboration, and ethical decision-making.Drawing on emerging literature and initial classroom experiences, I outline the opportunities and challenges presented by AI, including shifts in assessment design, the need for renewed emphasis on critical thinking and creativity, and the redefinition of academic integrity.I posit in this concept paper that generative AI is not merely a technological tool but a catalyst for pedagogical innovation, with implications for both educators and students across engineering disciplines.
