Employing Artificial Intelligence Applications to Enhance Media Skills

Abstract
This research examines how artificial intelligence (AI) applications can enhance media skills among journalists and media students, highlighting the opportunities and challenges of AI integration in Arab media and educational environments. The study analyzes recent literature (2020–2025) in both Arabic and English to identify how AI tools are used in writing, editing, fact-checking, data analysis, and media production, and how these tools impact professional competencies. Findings indicate that AI has significant potential to improve the speed and accuracy of news production, support journalists’ creativity, and boost audience engagement. Conversely, challenges emerge regarding credibility, professional ethics, and concerns over misinformation spread. The study concludes with recommendations, chiefly to integrate AI concepts and tools into journalism curricula and training programs, alongside establishing ethical and professional guidelines to ensure the responsible use of AI technologies in the media sector.
