Business Analytics for Radiology

Abstract

Business analytics (BA) has been used to transform major industries. Although BA originated in the data management field, it has been applied in healthcare with great success to improve the quality of services and patient care. Radiology practices are complex, with many activities and processes happening simultaneously, making it difficult for decision-makers to make informed decisions. BA has been proven to enhance the operational efficiency of organisations through improving decision-making and problem-solving. Furthermore, each radiology practice will have its own vision to achieve, affecting the BA initiative implemented. This chapter reviews the current literature on BA and its applicable use to enhance operational efficiency and quality in radiology practice.
