Abstract
Large Language Models and other types of generative AI are reshaping academia and impacting everyone involved: faculty, students, and administrators. In this research, we conducted a series of interviews with college faculty to understand their views on current and future trends in education due to this new technology. The results suggest that faculty perceive ambiguity and a decentralized approach in AI governance. They admit the inevitability of adjustments in education practices and the fact that AI adoption is also a cultural issue, emphasizing the importance of creativity, ethical values, judgment, and other human characteristics.
